The Not-So Little Miss Sunshine

Did anyone watch Little Miss Sunshine, the movie?

Well, check out Not-So Little Miss Abigail Breslin now!  She has grown into quite the lady!

And speaking of Little Miss....do you guys remember these???  The Mr. Men and Little Miss Books???

Oh how I loved these books when I was young!  This was probably my favorite...

But, I am not sure why?  I was always a real good girl!  (Most of the time, anyway!)

I think these books are not only fun, but informative and teachable!  I am gonna put these on Red Curlz birthday wish list for sure!

Happy Earth Day

A great way to introduce our kiddos to the environment and how important it is to reduce, reuse and recycle is to lead by example.

Barefoot Books - I am a HUGE fan - has a wonderful array of books to help you on your way.  If we could all be just a tad more conscience of how we do things on a daily basis, we could really make a difference on our beautiful Earth!

Learn how different cultures around the world set out to live in harmony with the natural world.
The seven folk tales are each followed by a hands-on activity that promotes green living
and reinforces the eco-messages of the stories.

Hope you all have a glorious Earth Day and start or continue to LIVE GREEN!

My Favorite Kind of Books - Barefoot

I want to introduce you all to a wonderful company and producer of my favorite type of books!  This company is known as Barefoot Books.

{image via}

Explore. Imagine. Create. Connect. Give Back. That’s what Barefoot Books is all about. It’s exploring other cultures, our planet, ourselves. It’s making time for make-believe and letting imaginations run wild and free. Most of all, it’s about using the power of stories to nourish the creative spark in everyone and strengthen connections with family, the global community, and the earth.

What is not to love about that??!!??  I was doing a Craft Show recently and there was a Barefoot Books Booth set up very close to mine.  I bartered.  Traded a piece of my artwork for two terrific books for Red Curlz.  The very noticable difference in Barefoot books is the amazing illustrations!  They are oh so lovely and bold.

Red Curlz is the proud owner of...

The CD/song that goes with this book is terrific!  So catchy...we sing it all the time!  And we take it to Day Care to share with her class.  They all love it.  Click on the title above and you can hear a clip of the audio.

Another great thing about Barefoot Books website is they provide tabs for age groups, so picking out the perfect book, for the perfect kiddo is just a click away!

I think this will be my next purchase for Red Curlz...

Not only is this an amazing book to have in your collection, but Barefoot books will donate ten percent of sales from Whole World to benefit global conservation.  Beat that.

And you can.  By Books that Give Back!  This, and many other books you purchase, will ship directly to children in schools and libraries across Africa.

This is the kind of company that I would like to support.  You should definitely go check them out for yourself!

Go Vintage

I know - Vintage is all the rage!  But, rightfully so.

How gorgeous would these wall hangings from Baby Goes Vintage look in a nursery or child's room?

Would be adorable in a laundry room too!

Truly adorable items, but as I was looking around...I noticed many, many items are out of stock.  BOO!

Hopefully they will get that all figured out real soon.

Are books that celebrate friendship, childhood connection and cultural diversity.

These beautifully written books can help us as parents to start our little ones on a gorgeous journey.  A journey of education.  A journey of backgrounds.  A journey of cultures.  A journey of common ground.  Our own special journey that makes each of us unique!
